Neonatal Care Specialists

Pediatrix Medical Group of North Carolina is a growing team of neonatologists who care for premature and critically ill newborns and children. This site provides information to assist you throughout your baby’s stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). While here, you can learn about our practice, our clinicians and, most importantly, your baby’s health condition.

We provide service at Presbyterian Hospital CharlottePresbyterian Hosital HuntersvillePresbyterian Hospital Matthews and Gaston Memorial Hospital. Please feel free to visit these hospitals for more information and tour the Hemby Intensive Care Nursery   at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.  When your child is under our care, know that they are being treated by a knowledgeable team of neonatologists including neonatal nurse practitioners and hospital staff.  Neonatologists are pediatricians who have completed advanced training and education that allows them to care for sick or premature newborns requiring complex medical attention.   These professionals draw upon their experience, advanced skills and compassion to provide the best possible care for your baby.

Our neonatologists are available either on-site in the neonatal intensive care unit or on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The NICU is a special nursery dedicated to taking care of sick newborns.  Babies who require special care in the NICU have problems that range from minor to serious.  Some babies may stay only hours, while others may stay for months before they are ready to go home. Your baby's physician will determine his or her length of stay depending on the care needed. Pediatrix Medical Group of North Carolina is affiliated with Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc.
